Ronnie Drew - Cunla
Who's that there that's rapping the door to me?
Who's that there that's rapping the door to me?
Who's that there that's rapping the door to me?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus:
Cunla dear, don't come any nearer me
Cunla dear, don't come any nearer me
Cunla dear, don't come any nearer me
Maybe I shouldn't', says Cunla
Who's that there that's tapping the windowpane?
Who's that there that's tapping the windowpane?
Who's that there that's tapping the windowpane?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus,
Who's that there that's climbing the stairs to me?
Who's that there that's climbing the stairs to me?
Who's that there that's climbing the stairs to me?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus,
Who's that there that's pulling the blankets down?
Who's that there that's pulling the blankets down?
Who's that there that's pulling the blankets down?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus,
Who's that there that's tickling the toes of me?
Who's that there that's tickling the toes of me?
Who's that there that's tickling the toes of me?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus,
Who's that there that's tickling the thighs of me?
Who's that there that's tickling the thighs of me?
Who's that there that's tickling the thighs of me?
'Only myself', says Cunla
Chorus,
Who's that there that's raking the fire for me?
Who's that there that's raking the fire for me?
Who's that there that's raking the fire for me?

two nice theorems in plane geometry
There are two very nice theorems I've learned not so far. The theorems were discovered by Frank Morley and John Conway.
1. Morley's trisection theorem
in any triangle, the three points of intersection of the adjacent angle trisectors form an equilateral triangle, called the Morley triangle.
2. Conway's circle
if you continue the sides of a triangle beyond every vertex at the distances equaling to the length of the opposite side, the resulting six points lie on a circle, which is called Conway’s circle.

sed for a set of lines
this script helps to make a sed operation (like search and replace) for only very certain lines in a file. let's say we have a data file (project.dat) and an index file (project.idx) with the line numbers, which we are interested to be changed. for the replacing all 'C' to 'L' we can do the following
source: http://www.unix.com/
#!/bin/sh
#make script for sed
sed 's|$|s/C/L/|' project.idx > project.scr
#or with awk
#awk '{print $1 "s/C/L/"}' project.idx > project.scr
#run sed with -f
sed -f project.scr project.dat > project.new.dat
#remove the script
rm -f project.scr
exit 0

Hachikō

This movie is the Americanized version of the true story about a dog named Hachiko who was found at a local train station by a college professor.
I cried - I'm a grown strong man who literally cried after the movie. I can't even put in words how touching this movie is. What else can I say...
(added after a while...)
In spite of the strong emotional effect the stage direction of the movie is quite unremarkable. All the movie's characters (except the dog, of course :-) are primitively stilty, simplified, and look unreal. My personal opinion is that Lasse Hallström, the author of such movies as "The cider house rules (1999)" and "Chocolate (2000)", could make it much better.
Somehow i did not like the music from this movie... hard to explain why it's so. there is something in the soundtrack that repels me.
Finally, you must be a really big fan of Richard Gere to appreciate his playing.
BUT!!! I liked the movie! And I would like to recommend it to all my friends. Don't miss it! (prepare tissues -you'll need them for sure)

Vladimir Vysotsky. I hate
I hate
I hate the fatal end - it’s so clear,
Life never makes me tired, faint or blue,
And I do hate each season of the year
When I don’t sing my merry songs to you.

Life never makes me tired, faint or blue,
And I do hate each season of the year
When I don’t sing my merry songs to you.
